SONY LASERDISC PLAYERS

SONY LDP-1000A - This NTSC laserdisc player is used in Bega's Battle, Cobra Command, and Road Blaster.  It is not compatible with the newer "LDP" series players such as the LDP-1450, LDP-1550, etc.  See the Programming Manual for a detailed look at the communication of this laserdisc player.

SONY LDP-1450 - This NTSC laserdisc player is used in COPS, Crime Patrol, Crime Patrol 2, Dragon's Lair II, Fast Draw Showdown, Gallagher's Gallery, The Last Bounty Hunter, Mad Dog McCree, Mad Dog II, Space Ace ('91), Space Pirates, Time Traveler, and Who Shot Johnny Rock?  Using an aftermarket conversion card, this player can also be used in the USA/Cinematronics Dragon's Lair and Space Ace games.

The player must be set to 9600 baud rate for proper communication, except Time Traveler needs a 4800 baud rate.
Sony LDP-1450 baud rate DIP switch settings:
  9600  -  1-down 2-down 3-down 4-up
  4800  -  1-down 2-down 3-up 4-down

SONY LDP-1500P - This PAL laserdisc player was not used in any laserdisc games from the factory.  Using an aftermarket conversion card, this player can be used in the Europe/Atari Dragon's Lair and Space Ace games.

SONY LDP-1550 - This NTSC laserdisc player was not used in any laserdisc games from the factory.  This player can be used as a direct replacement for any of the games that are listed above in the LDP-1450 section, except Dragon's Lair II, which can have partial compatibility after the installation of the DL2 LDP Conversion ROM found in the DL2 Tech Center.  Using an aftermarket conversion card, this player can be used in additional laserdisc games.

The player must be set to 9600 baud rate for proper communication, except Time Traveler needs a 4800 baud rate.
